Royal Ascot Event: Queen, King Charles, and Darcey Bussell Encounter

Royals Mingle with Darcey Bussell at Thrilling Royal Ascot Event

The penultimate day of the prestigious Royal Ascot event was marked by a delightful interaction between the Queen, King Charles, and former ballerina Dame Darcey Bussell. The royal couple was spotted engaging in a friendly chat with the renowned dancer, who was in attendance with her husband Angus Forbes.

Queen Camilla, 76, has long been a fan of the hit BBC show “Strictly Come Dancing,” on which Darcey served as a judge. The Queen is also the patron of the Royal Academy of Dance, where Darcey currently holds the position of president. This shared connection undoubtedly provided the two women with ample topics to discuss during their encounter at the racetrack.

The former prima ballerina looked effortlessly chic in a fuchsia midi dress, paired with a cream fascinator and tortoiseshell sunglasses. Meanwhile, the equally stylish Queen Camilla opted for a light blue suit, with her statement feathered hat fluttering in the afternoon breeze.

King Charles, 75, also cut a dapper figure in a pale grey morning suit, complemented by a pink waistcoat and a pink and blue gingham shirt. At one point, the King was seen doffing his top hat while conversing with the graceful Darcey Bussell.

The Queen’s well-known love for “Strictly Come Dancing” was evident, as she has previously joked about taking up tap dancing in her “dotage.” Darcey, a former “Strictly” judge, has also expressed admiration for Queen Camilla, praising her patronage of the Royal Academy of Dance as “wonderful” and stating that it will “make such a difference to the members.”

The day’s festivities saw a sea of vibrant colors and fabulous fashion, as racegoers arrived in their sartorial best. Coordinated outfits and creative headpieces were the order of the day, with some attendees even forming bands like the Tootsie Rollers, who donned matching vintage-inspired gingham dresses.

The Royal Ascot, a cherished summer social event as well as a sporting attraction, continues to captivate audiences with its blend of elegance, tradition, and excitement. As the penultimate day drew to a close, the royals and their guests no doubt looked forward to another thrilling day of racing action on the final day of this year’s edition.
