Ascot Racecourse Hosts Glamorous Royal Ascot 2024 Event

The Princess of Wales’ parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, made their first public appearance since their daughter’s cancer diagnosis, attending the second day of the prestigious Royal Ascot event. Dressed in their finery, the beaming couple looked in great spirits as they arrived at the renowned Berkshire racecourse.

Their appearance comes after Kate, 42, made a spectacular return to public life during the Trooping the Colour celebrations on Saturday. Carole, 69, has reportedly been supporting her daughter through her ongoing cancer treatment at their Windsor home.

The annual Royal Ascot, founded by Queen Anne in 1711, has become a major social event as well as a sporting attraction. Racegoers arrived at the racecourse in stunning outfits, with model Lisa Snowdon showcasing a patriotic football-themed hat commissioned by Ladbrokes to honor the England team competing in the Euros 2024.

Record-Breaking Prize Money

This year’s meeting will have a record-breaking £10 million in prize money, with the minimum winnings for all eight Group 1 races set at £650,000. The King and Queen, accompanied by other members of the Royal Family, were in attendance, likely hoping to add to their tally of Royal Ascot winners.

Inaugural Creative Director Appointment

For the first time in its 313-year history, Ascot Racecourse announced the appointment of a creative director, British fashion designer Daniel Fletcher. He is responsible for the annual Lookbook and Millinery Collective, which set the style tone for the event and often inspire racegoers’ outfits.

The five-day Royal Ascot 2024 event, running from June 18 to June 22, promises to be a celebration of fashion, horse racing, and the enduring traditions of this prestigious annual occasion.
