Paul Nicholls Targets Ascot Racecourse with Strong Contingent of Horses

Ascot Racecourse Sees Trainer Paul Nicholls Entering Multiple Horses on Saturday Racing Action

Renowned trainer Paul Nicholls is set to have a busy day on Saturday, with entries at three of England’s prestigious racecourses – Ascot, Haydock, and Wincanton. The 61-year-old trainer is hoping to add to his impressive record, with a total of 14 horses across the three venues.

Ascot Entries

At Ascot, Nicholls has five entries, including Inthewatersider, Brave Kingdom, Irish Hill, Threeunderthrufire, and Pic D’Orhy. Brave Kingdom, a consistent performer who has won four of his five starts for Nicholls, will be taking on some smart novices in the Grade 2 race, while Irish Hill looks to bounce back from a disappointing run in the Lanzarote. Pic D’Orhy, who was second in this Grade 1 Chase a year ago, will be looking to challenge the hot favorite, L’Homme Presse.

Haydock Entries

Nicholls also has two entries at Haydock, with Red Risk and Isaac Des Obeaux. Red Risk, who ran well on his seasonal debut, will appreciate the heavy ground, while the exciting chasing prospect Isaac Des Obeaux steps up to three miles.

Wincanton Entries

At Wincanton, Nicholls has a further seven entries, including Onetheefivenotout, Soir de Gala, Rubaud, Toothless, Individualiste, Pentire Head, and Paddy de Pole. Rubaud, a classy type, will be making his chasing debut, while Individualiste and Toothless both have cheek pieces applied in an effort to bring about improvement.

“The trainer’s best chance of the day appears to be Irish Hill, who is set to carry a light weight in the 2:25 pm race at Ascot. Nicholls is hopeful that the horse’s stamina and favorable racing weight will give him a sporting chance in the competitive race.”
