Royal Ascot Fashion and Regal Elegance: King Charles and Queen Camilla Lead Carriage Procession

Ascot Racecourse Hosts Regal Revelry as King Charles and Queen Camilla Lead the Carriage Procession

The Carriage Procession

The penultimate day of the prestigious Royal Ascot saw King Charles and Queen Camilla basking in the beautiful sunshine as they led the latest carriage procession. The royal couple looked splendid, with the King donning a dapper pale grey morning suit with a pink waistcoat, while the Queen matched his sartorial elegance in a light blue suit and a statement feathered hat.

Joining the King and Queen in the procession were Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo ‘Edo’ Mapelli Mozzi, as well as Lord and Lady Frederick Windsor. Princess Beatrice turned heads in a £2,995 Emilia Wickstead green Brita dress, complemented by a pale lemon clutch bag and hat. Former Prima Ballerina and Strictly Come Dancing star Dame Darcey Bussell, resplendent in a vibrant magenta gown, also took part in the regal ride to the royal enclosure.

“The idea of an item of clothing being for a specific gender is such a funny one,” said Daniel Fletcher, Ascot’s first-ever Creative Director, who has been responsible for shaping the event’s style direction. “I’m thrilled to be appointed as Ascot’s first Creative Director and have thrown myself into the new role, aiming to encapsulate the rich heritage of the racecourse while embracing the unique dress codes and adding a contemporary twist.”

The Royal Family’s Presence

The royal family have been enjoying the summer social staple all week, and the King and Queen appeared ready for another thrilling afternoon of racing on Friday. As the carriage procession made its way through the spectators, the King offered a wave of his black top hat, delighting the crowds.

Elsewhere in the royal enclosure, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were spotted, as was Peter Phillips with his new girlfriend, NHS nurse Harriet Sperling. The loved-up couple shared a tender kiss, basking in the festive atmosphere of the renowned racing event.

Fashionable Attire

Racegoers attending the event on the fourth day of Royal Ascot put on their finest attire, creating a beautiful sea of vibrant colors and fabrics. Flamboyant hats and gowns were once again the order of the day, with groups of elegantly coordinated revellers making a strong sartorial display.

Conclusion

As the day’s races, including the Albany Stakes, the Coronation Stakes, and the Commonwealth Cup, unfolded, Royal Ascot continued to cement its reputation as a must-attend event on the social calendar, offering a dazzling display of British style, tradition, and regal flair.
